Davina and I are Off to Chiang Rai. Luann opted for the zoo today. First stop, is a hot spring geyser. Phew you can smell the sulfur. Back in the van and one hour to the white temple I had to get my leaf on there too! Hanging it up the intricate design! Pictures don’t do it justice. No pics were allowed of inside. 45 minutes here. Then off to next stop The Black house museum. Interesting artifacts. Well, it gets the point across right? Then we get to visit the Karen Longnecks from Burma. It’s kinda like a refugee camp, pretty sad. They don’t make eye contact and they live very basic. The only money they make is what we pay to Gawk at them. And some of the goods they sell that They make. A cutie!!!! Weaving scarfsthe more gold the prettier they are.she was weaving.so then we get to go the Golden Triangle, where 3 countries meet and a stop on Laos by boat. They are all divided by rivers. They are very proud of their whiskey and opium. Thailand Casino in Myanmar Burma this is no mans land, where none of the three countries own it and this is where they do their opium trade with the mafia A welcome to Laos whiskey drink that was offered to us but, of course we declined. Cobra whiskey they sure are serious about their whiskey then we headed off to the last stop at the Blue temple, all the pictures do not do it justice! it was just beautiful. Tomorrow we had to Vietnam. After 18 days in Thailand , it is kind of bittersweet to leave Thailand. I am definitely leaving a piece of my heart here but yet Im excited to see what Vietnam has to offer. I will return one day to this magnificent country.
